Who we are:

NeuCyte is an early stage biotechnology company that focuses on developing treatments for those suffering from neurological and neurodegenerative disorders. We develop translatable cell-based assays for modelling neuro related disorders using patient-derived and genetically engineered neural cell types to discover novel therapeutics. Based on our SynFire® technology, our proprietary human neural in vitro platforms assess complex electrophysiological and morphological readouts suited for target identification and validation, as well as drug efficacy testing.

What we’re looking for:

NeuCyte is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be highly organized and have great communication skills. The candidate should also have prior laboratory research or laboratory management experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Order, stock, and track the lab inventory

  • Serve as a liaison among research staff, internal procurement team and vendors

  • Lead vendor management for the lab operations

  • Manage a digital inventory system, routine examination to ensure the consistency between the digital and the physical inventories

  • Coordinate with CROs and collaborators with sample shipping / receiving, and enter received research data into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) 

  • Lead fixed asset management, including primarily all equipment and company owned furniture; work with the Accounting team on asset evaluation and depreciation

  • Coordinate routine instrument examination, maintenance, and calibrations

  • Coordinate with service providers for equipment repairs/maintenance, and for facility repairs/maintenance such as HVAC and air filters.Work with Facility Manager to ensure facility conditions

  • Work with the Accounting team to manage facility sublease activities

  • Ensure and enforce safety compliance across the team

 

Required:

  • BSc or MSc degree in biology or related areas with 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in industry

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and record keeping skills

  • Team player

  • Applicants must feel comfortable with the fast pace of a small biotech company and have the flexibility to work on multiple projects.

  • Title and competitive salary commensurate with experience.
     

Preferred:

  • Experience with a LIMS system such as Benchling

  • Basic knowledge of scripting language such as Python
